Choose plastic bottles (PET) if:

  • Your product is liquid, cream, or serum—anything that needs containment
  • You're scaling beyond 10,000 units and can absorb tooling costs
  • Your brand positioning is clinical, efficient, or sustainable (with rPET)
  • You need barrier protection against oxygen or moisture

Consider both if: You're selling a premium serum. Use a PET bottle for the product, then nest it in a paper box for the unboxing experience. Yes, it costs more. But in my experience, the combined packaging often delivers the highest perceived value—and the lowest return rate.

Look—I'm not saying one material is universally superior. I'm saying the decision should be driven by your product form, your volume, and your brand promise. Not by what's trending on Instagram.
